Photography invoice template
Photography pricing mixes a session fee with per-image delivery, and clients routinely misunderstand one or the other. The invoice is where that confusion either ends or compounds.
This template makes the split explicit — the session as one line, edited images at a per-image rate, travel separately — so the total explains itself.
What photographers usually itemize
- The session fee for the shoot itself, named by event or type
- Edited images at a per-image rate (quantity × price)
- Travel beyond your included radius
- Prints, albums, or rush editing as add-on lines
Frequently asked questions
Do I invoice before or after delivering the photos?
Common practice is a deposit at booking and the balance before final delivery. Whichever you choose, the due date on the invoice should match what the contract says.
Should image licensing appear on a photography invoice?
For commercial clients, yes — a line naming the granted usage protects both sides. Personal or event clients usually don't need it.
